Languages your office speaks
Your office, your CEO and this guide all work in the same ten languages. This page shows how each of them picks its language.
This guide in your language
Section titled “This guide in your language”Every page of this guide exists in each of the ten languages. To change the language, use the language picker in the top bar of any page; on a phone it is inside the menu. It opens the same page in the language you chose, so you keep your place.
The guide does not choose a language for you. If a page opens in a language you did not want, the picker is how you change it.
Screen names match your screen — and where they do not
Section titled “Screen names match your screen — and where they do not”Every screen name this guide prints in bold — Knowledge, Chat history, Website Conversations and the rest — is the name your office shows when it is set to the language of the page you are reading. Read the guide in your office’s language and the names match your screen.
They can still differ. You may read the guide in one language while your office is set to another. And a few screen names are the same word in several languages, so a name can look translated in one place and not in another.
So wherever this guide sends you to a screen, it also tells you where that screen sits and what it does — which entry of the left rail, what sits directly above and below it, what the page is for. Those facts do not change with the language, and they are what to match against when a name does not.
Your CEO knows every screen by its English name too, whatever language you write in. So if you know a screen by that name, you can use it with your CEO. The reply still comes in the language you wrote in.
The interface
Section titled “The interface”Your office’s screens, menus and messages are available in ten languages: English, Turkish, Slovenian, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch and Arabic. In Settings the control is called Display language, and one of its choices — Automatic (follow my CEO language) — simply follows the language your CEO speaks, so you only need to pick a language of your own if you want the two to differ. Choose one and the screen around you changes as you choose it: no saving, no page reload. The sign-in screen has its own language picker too, for before you have an office to read.
How your CEO picks the language it answers in
Section titled “How your CEO picks the language it answers in”Your CEO reads and understands English internally, but always answers you in the language you are currently writing or speaking to it in — you never need to switch anything for this to happen. If you type in French, the reply comes back in French; if you switch to Turkish mid conversation, the next reply is in Turkish.
The one exception is a voice call: there, your CEO speaks in the voice language you set during your first conversation (Settings lets you change it afterwards). Written chat is not tied to that choice — it follows whatever language you type in, message by message.
