Leads and outreach
Your office can go looking for people who might buy from you, and it can reach out to them — but it never sends a single message on its own. Everything it drafts waits for you first.
The two boards
Section titled “The two boards”Which board you see depends on the kind of business you run:
- Pipeline — a board with six columns (New, Contacted, Replied, Qualified, Won, Lost) for businesses that work named leads through stages. Drag a card between columns, or use the “Move to” control on the card if you prefer not to drag. In the left rail it is the FIRST entry of the group that grows the business — the same group that holds the map, your outreach list, your website conversations and your mail. (The map’s row is the one entry your office may leave out, when your work is not tied to places; see the map.)
- Outreach targets — a plain list, for businesses whose work does not tie to one place (an online shop, a service with no fixed address). Each row is a person or a page your research team found on the open web who already writes about what you sell.
Your office decides which one fits your business; you are never asked to choose.
The rail’s own wording for these two is not always this page’s wording, and it changes with your office’s language. What does not move is the position and what the board looks like when it opens: six columns, or a plain list. Match on those. See languages your office speaks.
What each page in this section covers
Section titled “What each page in this section covers”- Finding leads — asking your office to start looking, and what shows up when it does.
- The map — seeing where your leads are and filtering the board by place.
- Drafts and sending — how an outreach message gets written, and why nothing goes out until you say so.
- Directory listings — getting your product listed in directories: the listing kit you approve once, what your office then sends by itself, where it stops for you, and the tracker.
- Blog and forum accounts — letting your office open accounts on blogs and forums in your name, and connecting the ones you already have.
The one rule that runs through all of it
Section titled “The one rule that runs through all of it”Nothing is sent until you approve it. Every drafted message lands in your Review queue first — see Approvals for what happens there.
